The Story Behind This Song
I wrote this song the year my brother died — while his ashes sat on my studio desk. I stared at that box every single day, and it changed me forever.
My brother wasn't "crazy." He wasn't "the problem." He was a human being in pain — and the world slapped labels on him instead of offering help. People gaslit him, dismissed him, mocked him, silenced him. And when he finally broke, they blamed HIM for the pain they helped cause.
That's why I wrote this song.
Mental health matters. Empathy matters. And for the love of God — stop gaslighting people and calling them crazy for the pain you caused.
This song is for every person who was misunderstood, mislabeled, and emotionally abandoned. It's for the ones who were hurting and got told to "get over it." It's for the ones who were silenced until the silence swallowed them.
I sing now because he never got to. And I will never let another person shame me, mute me, or call me "crazy" for telling the truth.

Be the first one around the fire.
